(Chicago, IL)… The Dallas Defenders fought valiantly during the opening round of the PBL Championship Playoff Series here but came up short to the Rockford Fury 121-108.
The team was told prior to the game that several players were ineligible for the playoffs which further hampered the team’s chances against a strong Fury team which was led by Rashii Johnson who led all scorers with 32 points. Tyrone Rakin led the Defenders with 23 points.

picks to finish the season in a professional, competitive fashion which I am proud of,” said Defenders owner Erin Patton.
“Having less than 6 months to launch this team and a significant capital commitment reneged uponearly in the season drastically changed the course of our season and business but we were able towork closely with the PBL to adjust accordingly. I want to thank the PBL for their efforts as well asour dedicated coaches, players, fans, staff and volunteers who supported us to make this inaugural season a success and memorable experience we can build upon. Go Defenders!” |
